The loss of someone you love is often followed by the five stages of grief: Denial, Anger, Bargaining, Depression, and Acceptance. These stages of grief can also be experienced when losing something you love as well, for example the loss of a job, the loss of a relationship, or the loss of a way of life.

The situation we are facing with COVID-19 has us all moving through the grief process at different rates. Currently, I am somewhere between Denial and Anger – “Is this really happening? June – What do you mean ‘June’!?”

In our current state of life, things like Sunday morning trips to the local bakery, weekly dates with your running group, and happy hours to de-stress after a long week at work, have been temporarily put on hold. In some cases, they have been substituted with virtual happy hours, at-home workout plans, and YouTube videos to learn how to bake the perfect croissant.

We here at PrairieView realize that these are difficult, and frightening, times. During times like this, leaning on friends, family, and community for support is what will get us through. We have collaborated to develop a sense of community by creating a “Community Page” on our website, which provides resources for books, shows, exercise, education, etc. as we all remain at home. This section of our site will be a permanent fixture and will be expanded upon as we discover new books, watch new movies, and try more recipes.

Please know that this area of the site is not exclusive to clients. We encourage you to share it with anyone who you feel may be in need. There is something for everyone!

As we collaborated to create our Community Page, we asked a few PrairieView Pros what they have been doing to stay occupied. See what they’ve been doing here.

In the meantime, please stay healthy and safe. If you need anything at all, just call.

Thanks for reading and be well.
